Before you get started, let’s talk about SMART goal setting. Why? Because if we aren’t SMART about our goals then we’ll end up defeated and we quit and then it’s a little tougher to get started again. It’s a vicious cycle and awareness is key.
So what exactly is a SMART goal?
Now let’s use an example for clarity. Let’s say that exercise consistency is my goal. I need to fit fitness into my life more frequently. Quite often our goal will be “I’m going to workout more often”. Is that a SMART goal? Nope!
Why?
It’s not Specific or Measurable.
Let’s try another one. I’m going to get up and go to the gym 7 days per week. SMART?
Nope.
Why?
It’s not attainable or realistic.
